ICYM Bhatkal Deanery Organized Blood Donation Camp at St. Anthony Church, Ternamakki

The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Bhatkal Deanery successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on 22nd February 2026 at St. Anthony Church, Ternamakki, witnessing an inspiring response from the youth and parishioners.

The program commenced with a prayer led by Fr. Vilet Fernandes, Youth Coordinator of ICYM Bhatkal Deanery, invoking God’s blessings upon the organizers, donors, and beneficiaries of the noble initiative. The Master of Ceremonies for the program was Lidiya Louis, Joint Secretary of ICYM Bhatkal Deanery, who gracefully conducted the proceedings. Johnviston Dias, Vice President of ICYM Bhatkal Deanery, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the dignitaries and participants.

Fr. Joachim Monteiro, Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Church, Ternamakki, addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the youth in organizing such a meaningful initiative. Mr. Kiran Kaikini, president of the Lions Club of Murudeshwar, was present for the occasion. Dr. Sunil Jatan, DC of Lions Club Murudeshwar, spoke about the importance and benefits of blood donation and encouraged the youth to actively participate in life-saving initiatives. Dr. Narayana Mudlageri from the Uttara Kannada Blood Bank and Health Centre also addressed the gathering, highlighting the need for regular voluntary blood donation and the importance of maintaining good health.

The camp was conducted under the guidance and blessings of Fr. Vilet Fernandes. Thanks were expressed to Fr. Joachim Monteiro for his guidance and for granting permission to conduct the camp on the parish premises.

Gratitude was extended to ICYM Ternamakki Unit President Alister Tellis and all the youth members for their dedicated coordination and wholehearted involvement, which greatly contributed to the success of the blood donation camp. The organizers also thanked all the ICYM council members for their coordination and support, as well as the core members for their active participation and commitment throughout the event.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Joshua Pereira, Boy Representative of ICYM Bhatkal Deanery, expressing appreciation to all dignitaries, donors, volunteers, and supporters. A total of 42 units of blood were collected and donated during the camp. This generous contribution stands as a testimony to the spirit of service and solidarity among the youth of ICYM Bhatkal Deanery, reflecting their commitment to saving lives and serving society.
