Marriage Enrichment Program held at Ambewadi, Dandeli.

The Family Commission organized a Marriage Enrichment Program on 1st March 2026 at St. Joseph the Worker’s Church, Ambewadi, under the guidance of the parish priest, Fr. Santosh Noronha. A total of 35 participants attended the program.

The first session was led by Mrs. Fatima Gonsalves on the theme “Upbringing of Children.” She highlighted the holistic development of children, emphasizing the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive aspects of growth. She reminded parents of their responsibility to be true role models at home and spoke about the Church’s teaching on love and sexuality. She also addressed the challenges faced by families when children stay away from home for studies or work, stressing the need for communication, understanding, and continued parental support.

The second session was conducted by Mr. Stephen Almeida on “Intimacy and Strengthening the Marriage Bond.” He spoke about building healthy relationships within the extended family, particularly with in-laws, and emphasized the importance of physical, emotional, and spiritual intimacy between spouses. He encouraged couples to remain open to life and underlined the importance of family prayer as the foundation of a strong and lasting marriage.

Following the sessions, participants were divided into groups for discussion and sharing. Each group presented their reflections, making the program interactive and enriching. Many participants shared that the sessions helped them reflect more deeply on their responsibilities as parents and spouses. They found the group discussions meaningful and expressed their desire for similar enrichment programs to be organized regularly in the parish.

The program was coordinated and carried out under the guidance of Fr. Sachin D’Souza. It was a meaningful initiative that enabled couples to renew their commitment to their vocation of marriage and family life.
