MCA Training Program held at St. Antony Church, Mudkani, Honavar
The MCA (Missionary Childhood Association) training program was conducted at St. Antony Church, Mudkani, on 15 March 2026. The program began with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Stewart Fernandes along with Parish Priest Fr. Benjamin D’Souza.
During his homily, Fr. Stewart reflected on the call of Christians to be a light to others by removing darkness from their lives and surroundings. He encouraged the faithful, especially the children, to live as witnesses of Christ through good deeds, kindness, and faith.
Following the Holy Mass, the MCA training program was held in the parish hall. Fr. Benjamin Dsouza inaugurated the session with a prayer and warmly welcomed the Diocesan Secretary for Proclamation and Evangelization and the children.
Fr. Stewart Fernandes then conducted the training session, explaining the vision and mission of the Missionary Childhood Association. He highlighted the importance of the MCA motto, “Children Helping Children,” and encouraged the children to grow in a missionary spirit by praying, sharing, and supporting other children around the world.
The session included interactive activities in which the children actively participated along with the animator. These activities helped them understand the missionary spirit in a joyful and engaging manner.
At the conclusion of the program, the children expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn and participate in the training. A total of 17 children attended the program. The training helped the children deepen their understanding of their role as young missionaries and witnesses of Christ in their families, parish, and society.
