Youth of Kumta Deanery Participate in Lenten Retreat
A one-day Lenten retreat for the youth of Kumta Deanery was organized on 15th March 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, Honmav. Around 100 youth from different parishes of the deanery participated enthusiastically in this spiritually enriching program.
The retreat began with the Way of the Cross. The youth, along with Fr. Rohan, the youth coordinator of Kumta Deanery, prayerfully walked up to the Honmav Hill Cross, meditating on the Stations of the Cross and reflecting on the suffering and sacrifice of Christ.
Following this devotion, lunch was served to all the participants. The afternoon session began with an animation program that helped energize and engage the youth. This was followed by an inspiring talk on Christus Vivit delivered by Fr. Mark Fernandes, encouraging the youth to deepen their faith and live their Christian vocation with enthusiasm and courage.
The retreat also included a time of Eucharistic Adoration, led by Fr. Mark, giving the young participants a meaningful opportunity for silent prayer, reflection, and a deeper encounter with the Lord during this sacred Lenten season.
The Kumta Deanery Youth Lenten Retreat concluded with tea and snacks, bringing the day to a joyful and spiritually fulfilling close. The retreat helped the youth grow in faith, fellowship, and commitment to live the message of Christ in their daily lives.
