ICYM Sirsi Deanery Youth Retreat on “Dilexie Te”
A meaningful retreat for the ICYM Sirsi Deanery was held on 19th March 2026 at St. Anthony Church, Sirsi, bringing together 37 youth for a day of spiritual renewal and fellowship. The retreat was centered on the theme “Dilexie Te,” inspired by Pope Leo XIV, inviting the youth to reflect deeply on God’s love and their personal response to it.
The program began with a warm welcome by the Deanery Coordinator, Fr. Valento Fernandes, who greeted Fr. Anthony D’Souza Jr., Fr. Francis Fernandes, and all the participants.
The retreat commenced with an inspiring session of praise and worship, followed by Eucharistic Adoration led by Fr. Francis Fernandes. This prayerful experience helped the youth to enter into a deeper encounter with the Lord. Fr. Anthony D’Souza Jr. delivered a thought-provoking talk on the theme “Dilexie Te,” encouraging the youth to recognize God’s immense love and to respond generously in their daily lives.
A creative and reflective Way of the Cross was conducted by Fr. Valento Fernandes using PowerPoint presentations along with clips from The Passion of the Christ. This unique approach deeply moved the participants and enriched their meditation on the suffering of Christ.
The retreat concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Fr. Valento Fernandes. The day ended on a joyful note with a fellowship meal, fostering unity and strengthening the bonds among the youth.
