The solemn Chrism Mass was celebrated on 26th April 2026 at the Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Kajubag, Karwar, bringing together clergy and faithful in a spirit of unity and prayer. Prior to the Holy Eucharist, the Prayer of the Church was conducted with active participation from clergy and faithful, preparing all spiritually for the Eucharistic celebration.

The Holy Eucharist was presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, and was concelebrated by all the diocesan priests. In his homily, the bishop emphasized the importance of the priesthood, reminding people that priests are called to be true models of Christ to the people they serve. He also urged the faithful to remember and support their priests through daily prayer, recognizing their vital role in the life of the Church.

During the Mass, the renewal of priestly vows took place, as the priests reaffirmed their commitment to their sacred ministry in the presence of the bishop and the faithful.

A large number of faithful were present for this important diocesan event. At the end of the Mass, Fr. Thomas Fernandes, Rector of the Cathedral, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their presence and participation.

Following the Eucharist, the Diocesan Pastoral Plan Book was inaugurated by the bishop along with the deans, marking a significant step forward in the pastoral mission of the diocese.
