Family Life Education and Enrichment Program was held at Mudkani Parish
The Diocesan Family Commission successfully organised a Family Life Education and Enrichment Program at Mudkani Parish on 7 June 2026 with the support and cooperation of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Benjamin D’Souza. Around 35 participants attended the program. The initiative brought together married couples, children, and youth through specially designed sessions aimed at strengthening family life and promoting healthy Christian values.
For married couples, enriching sessions were conducted on “Marriage and Intimacy” and “Upbringing of Children”. These sessions encouraged couples to reflect on building stronger marital relationships and fostering a nurturing family environment rooted in faith and mutual understanding.
A Remote Preparation Program was organized for children, with around 10 participants taking part. The sessions on “Desire for True Love” and “True Freedom” helped children understand the importance of values, relationships, and personal growth from a Christian perspective.
The program also included a Proximate Preparation Program for youth. The topics “Chastity and Offences Against Chastity” and “Decision Making and Problem Solving” guided young people towards responsible choices, moral integrity, and value-based living.
The resource persons for the day were Mr. Stephen Almeida, Mrs. Fatima Gonsalves, and Rev. Fr. Sachin D’Souza, who shared their expertise and experience through engaging and interactive presentations.
A highlight of the program was the group discussions and interactive question-and-answer sessions. Participants actively engaged in the discussions, openly sharing their questions, concerns, and experiences. The interaction provided valuable guidance and helped clarify doubts related to married life, parenting, relationships, and personal development.
Participants expressed appreciation for the practical and relevant nature of the sessions. They found the program meaningful, enriching, and applicable to everyday family life. Many also appreciated the openness of the discussions and requested that similar program be organized regularly in the parish.
The program concluded on a positive note with heartfelt gratitude extended to the parish priest, resource persons, and all the participants. It served as a meaningful occasion for strengthening marriages, forming children and youth, and promoting faith-filled, value-centred family life through education, reflection, dialogue, and formation.
