A Half-Day Seminar on the Updated Konkani Roman Missal held at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad
The Commission for Liturgy of the Diocese of Karwar organised a seminar for the diocesan priests on the updated Konkani Roman Missal on 10th June 2026 held at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad. The seminar aimed to familiarise the clergy with the revisions made in the Missal and to deepen their understanding of its proper use in the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy.
The seminar was led by Rev. Fr. Ronald Serrao, who gave an insightful presentation on the updated Missal. He explained the reasons for the revision, the corrections and modifications that have been incorporated, and the significance of these changes in ensuring greater accuracy and uniformity in liturgical celebrations. His session provided valuable guidance to the priests regarding the practical implementation of the updated text.
The seminar commenced with a prayer service led by Rev. Fr. Cyprian Silva, Secretary of the Diocesan Liturgy Commission. Rev. Fr. Valento Fernandes introduced the resource person and highlighted his contribution to liturgical formation and scholarship.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, welcomed the gathering and spoke about the expertise and experience of Fr. Ronald Serrao. In his address, the bishop encouraged the priests to embrace the updated Missal and continue fostering reverent and meaningful liturgical celebrations in their parishes.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Bishop and Rev. Fr. Ronald D’Souza, expressing gratitude to Fr. Ronald Serrao for his enlightening presentation and to all those who contributed to the successful organisation of the seminar.
The seminar served as an important occasion for ongoing liturgical formation, helping the diocesan priests of Karwar to prepare themselves for the effective use of the updated Konkani Missal in their pastoral ministry.
