MCA Unit Formed at St. Anne’s Church, Binaga
The Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization of the Diocese of Karwar successfully formed a Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) Unit at St. Anne’s Church, Binaga, on 14 June 2026.
The programme was led by Fr. Stewart Fernandes, Secretary of the Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, during which Fr. Stewart preached on the missionary calling of every Christian. Fr. Victor Dias, Parish Priest of St. Anne’s Church, concelebrated the Mass and extended his full support for the formation of the MCA Unit in the parish.
A total of 13 children and 2 animators participated in the programme. Following the Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Stewart conducted a training session on the Missionary Childhood Association, explaining its purpose, importance, and objectives. He encouraged the children to become young missionaries by sharing the love of Christ through prayer, sacrifice, and service.
The children listened attentively and actively participated in the session. Ms. Carol and Ms. Marisstella assisted in organizing activities for the children, helping to make the programme engaging and meaningful.
At the conclusion of the programme, Fr. Victor Dias expressed his gratitude to Fr. Stewart Fernandes for visiting the parish and establishing the MCA Unit. He also appreciated the efforts of all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The newly formed MCA unit is expected to help the children grow in missionary awareness and foster a spirit of evangelization from a young age.
