The CRI Karwar Unit Annual General Body Meeting was held on 9 August 2026 at St. Michael’s Convent, Karwar, bringing together priests, religious, and members of the CRI community for a day of prayer, reflection, learning, fellowship, and renewal.

The gathering began with the registration of participants and breakfast. The formal session commenced with a warm welcome by Sr. Stanley Alphonsa (CCR), President of the CRI Karwar Unit. She welcomed the Chief Guest, Resource Person, priests, religious, and all the participants.

The programme began with the lighting of the diya by the dignitaries, symbolizing the light of Christ that guides the mission of the Church. This was followed by a prayer service invoking God’s blessings upon the gathering.

The Chief Guest, Most Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar; the Resource Person, Rev. Fr. Ivan Almeida, SFX; and Rev. Sr. Jayashree, Secretary of the CRI Karnataka Region, were felicitated. The gathering also joyfully honoured the Silver and Golden Jubilee Sisters of the Diocese, appreciating their years of faithful consecrated life, dedicated ministry, and selfless service to the Church and society.

In his keynote address, Most Rev. Dr. Duming Dias encouraged the religious to remain deeply rooted in Christ, renew the joy of their vocation, and continue to be courageous witnesses of hope and Gospel values in today’s world.

The CRI Annual Report was presented by Sr. Florine Fernandes (FHIC), CRI Secretary. The report highlighted the various activities, programmes, achievements, and initiatives undertaken by the CRI Karwar Unit during the past year. The report was appreciated and accepted by the General Body.

Rev. Fr. Ivan Almeida, SFX, then conducted an inspiring session on the theme, “Holistic Health and Mission: Healing Ourselves, Serving Others, Transforming the World.” He emphasized the importance of caring for one’s physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. He reminded the participants that holistic well-being enables religious to serve others more effectively, joyfully, and generously in their consecrated life and mission.

The gathering culminated in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Ivan Almeida, SFX, with the concelebration of priests. The Eucharistic celebration was a grace-filled moment that invited all present to renew their commitment to Christ and to their mission of loving and selfless service.

The programme concluded with lunch and fellowship. The participants expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the CRI Karwar Unit for the excellent organization and meaningful conduct of the Annual General Body Meeting.The gathering concluded with gratitude to Almighty God for His abundant blessings and for the spirit of unity, fraternity, and renewed commitment experienced throughout the day.
