The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), Bhatkal Deanery, organised “MAJA MASTI”, a day of faith, fun and fellowship, on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mundalli, Bhatkal. More than 70 youth from various ICYM units of the deanery participated in the gathering.

The programme began with the Word of God and prayer, led by Rev. Fr. Prashanth Fernandes, OFM, Youth Coordinator of Bhatkal Deanery, followed by an intercessory prayer. Lidiya Louis compared the programme, while Glancy D’Souza delivered the welcome address.

The gathering featured a series of animation sessions, fun games and interactive activities. The first animation was conducted by the ICYM Bhatkal Deanery Core Team, followed by games that encouraged teamwork, creativity and sportsmanship. Martha Lobo conducted an engaging animation session, while Rev. Fr. Rony and team led a Communio session that helped the youth deepen their bonds of friendship and fellowship.

Following the tea break, Princita Lobo conducted another lively animation session, followed by more games and activities. The winners were recognised during the prize distribution ceremony. The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Blesie Fernandes and a Thanksgiving prayer led by Rev. Fr. Prashanth Fernandes, OFM. A photo session captured the joyful moments of the gathering.

The celebration continued with a dance and DJ session, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness, and concluded with a Thanksgiving song. MAJA MASTI provided a vibrant platform for the youth to come together, strengthen friendships, promote unity and celebrate the spirit of ICYM. The combination of prayer, animation, games and fellowship made the gathering a memorable experience for all.

The ICYM Bhatkal Deanery expressed its sincere gratitude to the clergy, youth, donors, volunteers, participants and deanery office bearers for their valuable support and active involvement in making the event a success. The gathering concluded with a renewed spirit of faith, friendship, unity and joyful fellowship, reflecting the enthusiasm and vibrant presence of the youth in Bhatkal Deanery.
