Marriage Preparation Course held at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad

A Marriage Preparation Course was conducted from 2 to 4 October 2026 at Puneeth Sadan, DPC Hall, Shirwad, with the participation of 43 participants. The programme aimed to prepare the participants spiritually and practically for Christian marriage and family life.

The sessions covered various aspects of married life, including relationships with parents and in-laws, conflicts and reconciliation, family finance, intimacy and communication, marriage and Canon Law, holiness of the body and pro-life, human anatomy, and the complementarity of man and woman in God’s plan. The sessions were led by Fr. Cyprian Silva, Fr. Valento Fernandes, Mr. Stephen and Reena Almeida, Mrs. Fatima Gonsalves, Mr. Deepak and Perphet Lopes, and Mr. Flaven and Swizel D’Souza.

Mr. Delwin and Jerita D’Souza, a young couple married for two years, shared their experience of married life, which was well received and appreciated by the participants. The programme also included Holy Eucharist, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Adoration, and the Divine Office, providing opportunities for prayer and spiritual preparation.

Group discussions, interactions, and skit presentations further encouraged active participation and reflection on various aspects of married life. The participants expressed their appreciation for the practical sessions, personal sharing, and spiritual activities. The course helped them gain a deeper understanding of the Sacrament of Marriage and their responsibilities as future spouses, preparing them to enter married life with greater awareness and commitment.
