Pratibha Career Guidance Program “Know Myself” held at Karwar
The Education Commission, in collaboration with Bala Pragathi Kendra Services (BPKS), organized a Career Guidance and Self-Discovery Program titled “Know Myself” on October 16, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Old PU College Hall, Karwar. A total of 114 students participated in the program, which aimed to promote self-awareness, identify individual strengths and aptitudes, and guide students towards informed educational and career choices.
The program began with a prayer service led by Fr. Gabriel Lopes, who also delivered the welcome address. The sessions were conducted by resource persons Fr. Benson Fernandes and Sr. Saritha D’Souza, Coordinator of BPKS. Through interactive talks, self-assessment exercises, group activities and discussions, the students were encouraged to recognize their abilities, reflect on their personal interests and understand the importance of choosing careers according to their strengths rather than peer influence.
The program also provided opportunities for students to develop confidence, improve communication skills and participate in collaborative learning activities. Certificates of participation were distributed to the students by Fr. Benson and Sr. Saritha D’Souza in recognition of their active involvement. Mrs. Sujatha and other staff members of the institution were also present.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Fr. Gabriel Lopes, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, organizers, staff and students for their valuable contributions. The initiative served as a meaningful step towards helping students gain greater self-understanding and make informed decisions about their future education and career pathways.
