Holy Cross Church, Donihalla, joyfully celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation on 8th March 2025. The Most Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, administered the sacrament to 16 candidates, strengthening them in their faith journey and commissioning them to be true witnesses of Christ.
The bishop was given a warm welcome as he arrived at the church, accompanied by a solemn procession. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was con-celebrated by Fr. Bastanv Nazareth, along with the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Cyril Miranda.
During his homily, Bishop Duming Dias emphasized the importance of being witnesses of Christ in everyday life. He encouraged the newly confirmed to live their faith through small acts of love, kindness, and service. The bishop also gave inspiring examples of saints who courageously lived their faith and spread the gospel through their actions.
At the end of the Mass, Fr. Cyril Miranda, the parish priest, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the bishop for his presence and for administering the Sacrament of Confirmation. He also thanked all those who worked hard to make the day memorable, including the choir, altar servers, and parishioners. The bishop was then honored and felicitated by the parish community as a token of love and appreciation.
It was a day of grace and joy for the entire parish community, as 16 young faithful were strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit to continue their journey as true disciples of Christ.
