The Laity Commission of the Diocese of Karwar organized a Get-Together of Professionals—lawyers, government officers, elected members, engineers, and contractors—on Sunday, 27th July 2025, at St. Michael’s Convent Hall, Karwar.

The event began with registration and breakfast, followed by a spiritually enriching Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Duming Dias and concelebrated by Fr. Lancy Rodrigues. In his introductory address, Fr. Lancy emphasized the vital role of professionals in societal development and the Church’s mission.

Fr. Richard Rodrigues gave an insightful talk on the evolving role of the laity, tracing its historical development and the transformative impact of Vatican II. Bishop Duming Dias highlighted the importance of strategic planning and collaboration with the qualified laity for the diocesan growth.

A brief feedback session allowed professionals to share views, with a common appeal to raise awareness about government schemes and greater engagement. The program concluded with the Angelus and lunch.
