Diocesan Family Commission holds Remote Preparation Courses for Students
The Diocesan Family Commission, Karwar, recently organized a series of Remote Preparation Courses for students from Class 7 to 2nd PUC at the parish level, aimed at equipping them with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for future family life. The program was based on the Growing Joyfully syllabus.
The courses were conducted in three parishes of the diocese during July and August 2025. On 26th July, Lower Kasarkod Parish hosted the first session with 80 participants. The following day, 27th July, Prabhat Nagar Parish welcomed 50 students for the course. The final session was held on 10th August in Kajubagh Parish, drawing 70 enthusiastic participants. Each event was actively supported by the parish clergy, catechists, and volunteers, ensuring smooth organization and meaningful engagement.
The syllabus covered a range of topics essential for holistic formation—understanding one’s dignity as a child of God, developing positive habits, fostering healthy relationships, managing emotions, and cultivating a spirit of prayer and service. Sessions were made engaging through group discussions, storytelling, and role plays. Scriptural reflections and the teachings of the Catholic Church offered a strong spiritual foundation, while practical guidance provided students with tools for living out their Christian values in everyday life and in their future families.
Feedback from participants and organizers was overwhelmingly positive. Many shared how the course helped them grow in self-worth, deepen their relationship with God, and apply the lessons learned in their homes, schools, and communities.
The Diocesan Family Commission expressed gratitude to the facilitators, parish priests, and volunteers for their dedication, as well as to the host parishes for their warm hospitality. The program has left a lasting spiritual and moral impact on the young participants, inspiring them to live with faith, responsibility, and love.
