Diocese of Karwar Commission for Health Celebrates Jubilee of Medical Professionals
The Diocese of Karwar Commission for Health joyfully organized the Jubilee celebration of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff on 24th August 2025 at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad. A total of 42 members actively participated in this meaningful event.
The program began with a prayer service led by the SRA Sisters of St. Ignatius Convent, invoking God’s blessings upon all healthcare professionals. Mrs. Melvita from Bhatkal Deanery welcomed the gathering warmly, setting the tone for the celebration.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, in his motivating address, highlighted the importance of Gospel values in healthcare and called for the formation of a Think Tank Committee comprising doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff to reflect and act on present challenges in the health sector.
Br. Antony Raj, the resource person, delivered a thought-provoking talk on Spiritual Wellness. He stressed that spiritual wellness in the healthcare system integrates physical, mental, social well-being, and harmony with nature. Fr. Richard Rodrigues, Vicar General, spoke on Cultivating Empathy and Compassion. He emphasized the Ten Commandments of ‘C’s to be practiced by healthcare workers in their daily life and profession.
The event was filled with moments of learning, reflection, and sharing. Sr. Philippa, SRA, proposed the vote of thanks, appreciating everyone who contributed to the success of the Jubilee. The celebration concluded with a Eucharistic Celebration, thanking God for the selfless service of medical professionals in the Diocese of Karwar.
