Karwar Diocesan Catholic Teachers Meet – 2025 held at Yellapur
The Commission for Education of the Catholic Diocese of Karwar organized the “Catholic Teachers Meet—2025” at Mother Teresa English Medium School, Yellapur. The half-day gathering brought together teachers, lecturers, and professors from the parishes of Sirsi, Haliyal, Yellapur, and Mundgod.
Around 116 teachers from pre-primary, primary, and high schools, along with 8 lecturers from Sirsi parish, participated in the event. The program began with registration and breakfast, followed by a prayer service led by the teachers of Mundgod parish.
Rev. Fr. Raymond Fernandes welcomed the gathering, after which Rev. Fr. Gabriel Lopes outlined the purpose of the meeting. Rev. Fr. Intru reflected on the responsibilities of the laity, while the Bishop Duming Dias addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of Catholic education and forming young minds with Gospel values. On the occasion, he also announced the formation of a Think Tank Committee and a Career Advancement Committee. Rev. Fr. Sachin later spoke about the Holy Family Committee and chose members from among the teachers.
Teachers Mrs. Matilda, Mr. Clitus, and Mr. Nelson shared their reflections on the programme, expressing their encouragement and appreciation. A solemn Holy Mass was celebrated, animated by the teachers of St. Anthony’s School, Sirsi, who also led the choir beautifully.
Rev. Fr. Royston proposed the vote of thanks, while Mrs. Sangeeta and Mr. Peter compered the event. The gathering concluded with a fellowship lunch, which the teachers enjoyed in a spirit of joy and togetherness.
The Catholic Teachers Meet—2025 proved to be a meaningful and fruitful occasion, strengthening the bond among Catholic educators and inspiring them to carry forward their mission with renewed zeal.
