Ecumenical Pastors’ Meet and Inauguration of AKUCFHR Karwar Zone
The Commission for Ecumenism of the Diocese of Karwar organized a Pastors’ Meet on 12th September 2025 at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Karwar. On this occasion, the All-Karnataka United Christian Forum for Human Rights (AKUCFHR) inaugurated its Karwar Zone ad hoc team of office bearers.
The session began with a prayer, after which the Bishop of Karwar, Most Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, extended a warm welcome to all the participants. Fr. Lawrence, Secretary, presented the aims and objectives of the United Christian Forum, and Mr. Pericho shared details about various government schemes available for Christians. The participants, after receiving clarifications, expressed their willingness to collaborate actively.
The gathering brought together representatives from the Catholic Church, the Marthoma Church, and the Independent FCCO. Fr. Richard Rodrigues, Coordinator of the Diocesan Pastoral Commission, was also present.
Following an explanation of the office bearer structure, the members unanimously elected the Ad Hoc team:President: Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, Secretary: Br. Pradeep Simon, Treasurer: Rev. Prince James
It was noted that the team would be expanded in the future in response to emerging needs. The Forum expressed gratitude to Bishop Duming Dias, Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, Fr. Richard Rodrigues, and the Diocesan Pastoral Centre for their support and arrangements. The meeting concluded with a prayer and a fellowship meal, strengthening unity and commitment among the members.
