The Commission for Social Communications of the Diocese of Karwar organized the Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Marian Singing Competition 2025 on 14th September 2025. 68 participants participated in the singing competition, which was conducted by the diocesan social communication commission.

Rev. Fr. Gabriel Monis, Dean of Kone Deanery, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also present were Rev. Fr. Gabriel Lopes, Secretary of KDES; Rev. Fr. Steven D’Souza, Director of KDDC; Sr. Alfonsa, Superior of St. Michael Convent, Karwar; participants of the competition; and their family members.

In his chief guest address, Fr. Monis thanked the participants and the organizers for conducting such a meaningful competition and encouraged everyone with his inspiring message. Representing the participants, three individuals shared their experiences and expressed their desire to see many more such events in the future.

The program was well conducted by Fr. Steven D’Souza as master of ceremonies. Fr. Stewart Fernandes, Director of the Commission for Social Communications, welcomed the gathering, and he also extended gratitude to Bishop Duming Dias for his full support and Mr. Prasanna Fernandes for taking the initiative to collect the prizes. The Commission honored Mr. Johnson Dias and Ms. Sofia Fernandes for their valuable contributions in the field of music.

Prizes were distributed by the dignitaries on the dais, and certificates were presented to all donors and participants. The program concluded with refreshments, fostering joy, fellowship, and devotion to Our Lady.
