Altar Boys Day Celebration at the Kajubag Deanery

The Kajubag Deanery organized a one-day Altar Boys Day Program at St. Joseph’s PU College Hall, Karwar. The event witnessed the participation of 104 altar boys, along with 9 priests and 1 nun. The program aimed to enrich the spiritual and liturgical understanding of the participants and foster communion among them.

The program began with a warm welcome, followed by an input session by Fr. Silvan, the Vocation Promoter of the Diocese. He delivered an engaging talk on the topic of “vocation,” which included interactive discussions, group activities, and animation sessions, emphasizing the call to serve and the importance of discerning one’s vocation.

In the second session, Fr. Baptist, the Chancellor of the Diocese, enlightened the participants on the role of altar boys in the liturgy. His insightful session focused on the responsibilities and significance of Altar Boys in enhancing the solemnity and sanctity of liturgical celebrations.

To test their knowledge and familiarity with liturgical items, a memory test was conducted for the participants, which added a competitive and engaging aspect to the event.

Post-lunch, the program featured a variety of group activities and games that encouraged teamwork, leadership, and individual talents. These activities fostered bonding and provided a refreshing break from the structured sessions.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performers in the various activities. The program ended with a vote of thanks and a light refreshment session with tea and snacks, leaving the participants inspired and rejuvenated.

The event was a resounding success, offering the Altar Boys an opportunity to deepen their understanding of their roles and responsibilities while creating cherished memories with their peers.
