Bishop’s Pastoral Visit to St. Paul’s Mission, Bukkinkoppa
The Bishop of Karwar, Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, made a pastoral visit to St. Paul’s Mission, Bukkinkoppa, on 8th March 2026. The visit was a moment of prayer, pastoral interaction, and encouragement for the faithful of the mission.
The program began with a warm welcome to the bishop, followed by a solemn procession to the church. A prayer service was conducted in the church, gathering the faithful in reflection and thanksgiving. The bishop then visited the cemetery where prayers were offered for the departed members of the Christian community.
A solemn Eucharistic celebration was held in the church, during which the bishop encouraged the faithful to deepen their faith and remain united in Christian love and service. After the celebration, he met the parishioners and patiently listened to their concerns and suggestions, fostering a spirit of dialogue and pastoral care.
Later, the bishop held a meeting with the parish committee members to discuss the pastoral activities and the growth of the mission. He also interacted with the confirmation candidates, offering them guidance and spiritual encouragement as they are going to receive the sacrament.
As part of the pastoral visit, the Bishop reviewed the parish records and files to understand the functioning and administration of the mission. The visit also included time for fellowship with the community. The bishop concluded his visit by visiting the sick of the parish, offering prayers and blessings, thereby bringing comfort and hope to those in need.
The pastoral visit was coordinated by Fr. Benedict Rodrigues, priest-in-charge of St. Paul’s Mission, and was marked by active participation and joy among the faithful. Fr. Benedict Rodrigues expressed gratitude for the bishop’s presence and pastoral guidance.
