The Education Commission of the Diocese of Karwar, in collaboration with Bala Pragathi Kendra Services (BPKS), organized a two-day Career Guidance and Self-Discovery Program titled “Know Myself” at Prathibhodaya, Honnavar, on October 13 and 14, 2026. The program, was designed for students of Classes 8, 9 and 10 from the Honnavar, Kumta, and Bhatkal deaneries. The program benefited a total of 348 students, helping them recognize their strengths, understand their interests and values, and explore suitable academic and career pathways.

The program on October 13 commenced with a prayer service led under the guidance of Fr. Benson Fernandes, followed by a welcome address by Mrs. Sujatha. Sr. Mable Pinto and Fr. Benson served as resource persons, conducting sessions on personal values, goal setting, self-evaluation, and self-discovery. Through guided exercises and practical discussions, the 230 students were encouraged to identify their abilities and develop a clearer understanding of their future aspirations.

On October 14, the program brought together 118 students from the Honnavar, Kumta, and Bhatkal deaneries. Fr. Benson led a session on self-awareness, personal values, and the concept of “Know Myself.” Sr. Saritha D’Souza, Coordinator of BPKS, conducted an interactive workshop featuring group activities and collaborative exercises focused on career guidance, decision-making, and identifying individual aptitudes. Fr. Bostanv Nazareth, Parish in charge of Divalli, addressed the students and encouraged them to recognize their talents, remain focused on their studies, and participate actively in the sessions.

Both days featured enthusiastic student participation, with activities designed to promote self-confidence, teamwork, and informed decision-making. Certificates of Participation were distributed to acknowledge the students’ involvement. The first day concluded with a vote of thanks by Fr. Benson, while Miss Riyona proposed the vote of thanks on the second day, expressing gratitude to the organizers, resource persons, and participants.

The two-day program provided students with valuable opportunities for reflection and personal growth. By helping them identify their strengths, interests, and aspirations, the initiative aimed to empower them to make informed decisions about their education and future careers. The program reaffirmed the commitment of the Education Commission and BPKS to nurturing the potential of young people through meaningful educational guidance and holistic development.
