Career Guidance Program “Know Myself” held at Haliyal
The Karwar Diocesan Education Commission, in collaboration with Bala Pragathi Kendra Services (BPKS), organized a Career Guidance program “Know Myself” for students of Classes 8, 9 and 10 at Carmel School, Haliyal, on 11th October 2026. The program brought together 115 students from Haliyal and Dandeli to help them discover their strengths, recognize their potential and explore suitable career opportunities.
The program began with a prayer service led by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Lopes, Director of BPKS, who also welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person, Mr. Nelson, and Sr. Saritha D’Souza, Coordinator of BPKS. In his introductory message, Fr. Gabriel highlighted the importance of self-awareness in making informed career choices and encouraged students to understand their abilities, interests and values.
Mr. Nelson led interactive sessions featuring group activities, self-assessment exercises and discussions that enabled students to reflect on their individual strengths, interests and aspirations. The activities encouraged active participation and helped students gain a better understanding of themselves and the importance of making thoughtful decisions about their academic and professional futures.
Rev. Fr. Ronald D’Souza, Deanery Dean, joined the gathering towards the conclusion and distributed certificates of participation to the students. He encouraged them to apply the insights gained from the program in their academic journey and future career planning. The program concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to Carmel School, the organizers, the resource person and all the participants. The initiative provided students with valuable guidance for self-discovery, personal development and informed career choices.
