A half-day Communio Awareness Program was organised for the youth of the Diocese of Karwar on 11 June 2026 at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad. The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 45 youth members from various parishes of the diocese.
The program commenced with a prayer led by Fr. Silvan Rodrigues, ICYM Director of the Diocese of Karwar. The gathering was then warmly welcomed by Ms. Cecilia Pinto, who greeted the participants and highlighted the importance of the Communio initiative.
The main session was conducted by Sr. Margarita Dias, SCB, Associate Director of the Communio Training Program, who provided training and orientation on the Communio Volunteer Program. The participants actively engaged in the activities and enthusiastically shared their thoughts and experiences.
Later, Bishop Duming Dias addressed the gathering and encouraged the youth to become committed ambassadors of hope, compassion, and service in their communities. His inspiring message motivated the participants to actively contribute to the mission of the Church and society.
Fr. Ronny Rodrigues, Communio director of the Diocese of Karwar, clarified various doubts raised by the participants and provided further guidance regarding the Communio ministry. An interactive question-and-answer session enabled the youth to gain a deeper understanding of the program.
As a symbol of growth, care, and commitment to creation, a sapling planting ceremony was conducted. The saplings were planted by Bishop Duming Dias along with Fr. Ronny Rodrigues, Communio Director; Fr. Silvan Rodrigues, Youth Director; DEXCO members; Communio volunteers; and Sr. Margarita Dias.
