The Family Commission of Karwar Diocese, in association with the Missionary Families of Christ (MFC), organized a Couples’ Get-Together Programme for couples and their children from Lower and Upper Kasarkod Parishes on 20th September 2026 at St. Joseph’s Church Hall, Lower Kasarkod.

The programme was organized with the support and guidance of Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar. Fr. Albert D’Silva, Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Parish, Lower Kasarkod, hosted the programme and extended his support for its successful conduct. Around 45 couples and 60 children participated in the gathering. The programme included the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Gnana Prakash, Dean of Bhatkal Deanery.

The MFC team from Mangalore conducted sessions on the Five Languages of Love, marital intimacy and communication, and the importance of family prayer. The team also shared personal experiences and testimonies from married life, offering practical insights to strengthen family relationships.

Various activities were conducted for couples and children, making the programme interactive and enjoyable. The gathering provided an opportunity for couples to reflect on their marital journey and to strengthen their relationship with one another, their children and God.

The programme received positive feedback from the participants. The sessions, testimonies and activities encouraged couples to appreciate the beauty of marriage and to nurture love, communication, intimacy and prayer within their families.

The Family Commission expressed its gratitude to the MFC team from Mangalore for their valuable contribution. The guidance and support of Fr. Sachin D’Souza, Director of the Family Commission, also contributed to the meaningful conduct of the programme.
