EMHC Renewal Program held at St. Michael’s Convent, Karwar
The Commission for Liturgy of the Diocese of Karwar, under the leadership of its Diocesan Director, Rev. Fr. Cyprian Silva, organized a spiritually enriching Renewal Program for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) at St. Michael’s Convent, Karwar. A total of 28 EMHCs from the Kajubag and Kone deaneries took part in this faith-deepening event.
The program began at 9:00 a.m. with a warm welcome to all participants. In the first session, “Emmaus Model of EMHC’s Journey of Faith,” Fr. Cyprian invited the ministers to reflect on their own faith journey through the lens of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, offering scriptural insights and practical guidance for their Eucharistic ministry.
A meaningful hour of Eucharistic Adoration followed, during which Fr. Cyprian shared a reflection on “Our Disposition in Celebrating the Eucharist.” He highlighted the importance of interior preparation, reverence, and a prayerful heart for those entrusted with the ministry of distributing Holy Communion.
The highlight of the day was the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, where Fr. Cyprian encouraged the ministers to detach from worldly desires and set their hearts on the treasures of heaven, reminding them of Christ’s call to “seek first the Kingdom of God.”
The program made participants renewed in their spiritual commitment and enriched in their understanding of the Eucharist. Many expressed gratitude for the opportunity to deepen their ministry and personal faith.
Fr. Cyprian extended his thanks to Most Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, for his constant guidance; to the parish priests for sending their ministers; and to the St. Michael’s Convent Community for their generous hospitality and meticulous arrangements.
