EMHC Renewal Program held at St. Sebastian Church, Manchikeri
The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) Renewal Program was held on 17th August 2025 at St. Sebastian Church, Manchikeri. The program was organized under the leadership of Fr. Cyprian Silva, Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Center and Secretary of the Commission for Liturgy, Diocese of Karwar.
Fr. Cyprian enriched the gathering with a profound reflection on Mane Nobiscum Domine, the Apostolic Letter of Pope St. John Paul II, and connected its message to the life and ministry of EMHCs. He reminded the participants that their service flows from the Eucharist and encouraged them to remain faithful witnesses of Christ in their respective parishes.
The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was a central moment of the day, during which Fr. Cyprian exhorted the ministers to grow as true disciples of the Lord by detaching themselves from worldly ties and living in the freedom of God’s love. The day concluded with a Eucharistic Adoration, where he highlighted the vital role of prayer in the life of EMHCs and offered practical ways to deepen both personal and communal prayer.
A total of 39 participants from Sirsi Deanery, along with representatives from Haliyal Deanery, attended the program. The hospitality and arrangements were graciously taken care of by Fr. Rony Rodrigues, Parish Priest of Manchikeri, creating a prayerful and fruitful experience for all.
The renewal program was deeply appreciated by the participants, who expressed their gratitude for the spiritual nourishment received. At the conclusion, Fr. Cyprian extended heartfelt thanks to Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias for his constant encouragement, to the parish priests for sending their EMHCs, and to Fr. Rony for his dedicated efforts in organizing the event.
The program proved to be a moment of grace, strengthening the commitment of EMHCs to their sacred ministry and to the service of the Church.
