Holy Cross Church Shirali hosts MCA Inauguration and Training on Palm Sunday

On 29th March 2026, Holy Cross Church, Shirali, witnessed a meaningful and vibrant celebration as the inauguration and training program of MCA children was held in conjunction with Palm Sunday.

The Holy Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Stewart Fernandes, secretary for the Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization. The Mass was concelebrated by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Wilson Fernandes. In his homily, Fr. Stewart Fernandes emphasized the importance of obedience and humility, while also highlighting the spiritual significance of Palm Sunday, inviting the faithful—especially the children—to follow Christ with sincerity and commitment.

Following the Mass, the inauguration of the MCA (Missionary Childhood Association) took place. Animator Mishel Dias, along with the children, solemnly lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the beginning of the program. This was followed by the oath-taking ceremony, where the children committed themselves to grow as young missionaries in faith and service.

After the inauguration, a special training session on MCA was conducted for the children. A total of 22 children participated in the program, actively engaging in the session with great enthusiasm and attentiveness.

Parish Priest Fr. Wilson Fernandes expressed his gratitude to Fr. Stewart Fernandes for conducting the seminar and guiding the children with his valuable insights. The entire event was a spiritually enriching experience, encouraging the children to deepen their faith and actively participate in the mission of the Church.
