Preparation for Jubilee 2025 Initiated
The inauguration of the year of preparations for the ordinary Jubilee 2025 was
held in the Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral karwar on Christ the king Feast Day,
viz: November 26, 2023. After a meaningful Holy Hour where Fr Roshan
Fernandes conveyed to the faithful attending, the meaning and ongoing activities
of the year of preparations for the ordinary jubilee, the Inauguration of the logo
for the year of preparations was unveiled by Rt Rev Dr Derek Fernandes – the
Apostolic Administrator of the diocese of karwar along with the representatives of
the different sections of people belonging to the church. It followed the recitation
of the prayer specifically prepared for the year of preparations in view of the
Jubilee 2025. Immediately the Eucharistic Procession commenced to Our Lady of
Piety Church, Kone, through the city of Karwar. The procession culminated at Our
Lady of Piety Church where the Bishop imparted the Eucharistic Blessing through
the rite of Benediction and explained to the people the importance and
significance of the year of preparations for the ordinary Jubilee 2025. Rev Dr
Valerian Sequeira the delegate of the Apostolic Administrator invited the faithful
to open the doors of love, forgiveness and mercy and expressed the note of
gratefulness to all those who made the Inaugural ceremony of the year of
preparations for the ordinary jubilee 2025 a memorable one. The jubilee song
which was being played throughout the procession during the rosary as a
interlude between every decade of rosary, brought out the meaning of the event
at hand very meaningfully.
