MCA Unit Inauguration and Parents’ Day Celebration at St. Sebastian Church, Manchikeri

St. Sebastian Church, Manchikeri, witnessed a joyful and spiritually enriching celebration as the parish inaugurated its Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) Unit and observed Parents’ Day on Sunday, 27th July 2025.

Rev. Fr. Stewart Fernandes, Director of the Diocesan Commission for Proclamation and Evangelization, presided over the solemn Holy Eucharist. In his homily, he reflected on the importance of prayer in Christian life, especially encouraging families and children to cultivate a habit of daily prayer, drawing strength and guidance from God in all circumstances. During the Mass, Fr. Stewart officially installed the MCA Unit, urging the children to grow in missionary spirit and Christian values from a young age.

The celebration also included a vibrant Parents’ Day program, thoughtfully organized under the guidance of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ronny Rodrigues. The parish youth led the event with creativity and enthusiasm, honoring the vital role of parents in the life of the Church and family.

The celebration resembled a parish feast in its spirit and participation, with a large gathering that included parishioners from the substations of Tuduguni and Biliki, who also joined in the Eucharistic celebration and the festive program that followed.

The day fostered community unity, highlighted the dignity of parenthood, and inspired a missionary spirit among the young. Heartfelt congratulations to the new MCA Unit and sincere thanks to all who contributed to the success of this meaningful event.
