Men’s Association Gathering of Haliyal Deanery held at Kirwatti

The Men’s Association of Haliyal Deanery gathered for a vibrant and spiritually enriching celebration at Kirwatti on 15th March 2026. Around 60 men were present. The program was organized under the Commission for Laity and brought together members from various parishes, fostering unity, reflection, and active participation in the life of the Church.

The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Raymond Fernandes, Dean of Haliyal Deanery, as the chief guest, while Rev. Fr. Felix Lobo was the invited guest. The program commenced with a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Michael Pinto, who also extended a warm welcome to all the participants.

The celebration was formally inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Felix Lobo through the traditional lighting of the lamp. On this occasion, Rev. Fr. Raymond Fernandes released the new handbook of the Men’s Association, marking an important step in strengthening the organization’s structure and mission.

A meaningful input session was delivered by Rev. Fr. Steevan D’Souza, who spoke on the importance of local elections, voter awareness, election card mapping, and the significance of SIR (Special Intensive Revision). His talk encouraged the faithful to be responsible citizens and actively participate in civic duties.

The gathering also had a spiritual dimension, resembling a recollection. Eucharistic Adoration was conducted by Rev. Fr. Raymond Fernandes, followed by the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, offering participants a time of prayer and renewal.

A group discussion session was held focusing on the relevance and necessity of the Men’s Association. Participants reflected on how the association can contribute to parish life and discussed the need for strengthening such initiatives at the diocesan level.

The fellowship continued with a common meal, followed by engaging group games in the afternoon, adding joy and camaraderie to the gathering. The day concluded on a positive and enthusiastic note, leaving the participants inspired and motivated.
