Pastoral Visit of Bishop Duming Dias to St. Michael Mission Station, Kodse, Yellapur.
Bishop Duming Dias made his pastoral visit to St. Michael Mission Station, Kodse, on Sunday, 26th October 2025. The priest in charge, Fr. Antony D’Souza, together with the parishioners, warmly welcomed the bishop with deep joy and affection.
The visit began with a prayer of thanksgiving and a celebration of the Word of God. Bishop Duming then visited the cemetery, where he offered prayers for the departed souls, invoking God’s mercy and peace upon them.
Addressing the gathering, the bishop shared the spiritual and pastoral purpose of his visit. He encouraged the faithful to deepen their faith, remain united as one community, and actively participate in the life of the Church.
The Bishop then presided over the Holy Eucharist with great devotion and reverence. During the celebration, he administered the sacrament of baptism to a child, naming him Aaron, marking a joyful moment for the community.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Duming met with all the parish associations—the Parish Pastoral Council, children, youth, women’s league, and men’s league—attentively listening to their reports and offering pastoral guidance and encouragement.
After a fellowship meal, the bishop visited leaders of other faith communities in the area, fostering interreligious harmony and mutual respect. He then proceeded to St. Fatima Wado, Gensetticoppa, to give Holy Communion to the sick, and later visited St. Francis Xavier Wado, Kannigere, for liturgy preparation.
