Prison Ministry Diocese of Karwar Celebrates 79th Independence Day with Children of Baal Mandir
The Prison Ministry Diocese of Karwar, in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Group, joyfully celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day with the children of Baal Mandir Government Juvenile Home on 15th August 2025.
The program began with a warm welcome address, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Mr. B. H. Krishnappa, Deputy Director of Woman and Child Development. He was joined by other dignitaries, including Mr. Kumar, Junior Deputy Director; Mrs. Sonal, DCPO; Sr. Freshina Lopes; and Mrs. Rosline Fernandes.
The children of Baal Mandir brought color and spirit to the day through a heartfelt prayer dance, inspiring speeches, and vibrant performances. In their addresses, the chief guest and dignitaries highlighted the profound significance of freedom, recalling the sacrifices of great reformers who fought for India’s independence. They further urged the children to embrace true freedom by overcoming personal weaknesses and living values of love, care, and forgiveness.
The celebration concluded with lively games, distribution of gifts, and a fruit feast, creating an atmosphere of joy and hope among the children.
As the words of Rabindranath Tagore echoed—”Let my country awake into that heaven of freedom”—the event stood as a moving reminder of the power of freedom and the promise held by the younger generation to shape a brighter future for our nation.
