The feast of St. Anthony was celebrated with great faith, devotion, and enthusiasm at St. Anthony Church, Ternamakki, on 13th June 2026. A large gathering of clergy, religious, and faithful participated in the solemn celebrations.
The main celebrant of the festal Eucharist was Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, Bishop of Karwar, who was warmly welcomed by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joachim Monteiro. The Holy Mass was concelebrated by several priests of the Diocese, and attended by a large number of faithful.
In his homily, Bishop Duming Dias reflected on the life and virtues of St. Anthony, highlighting his deep love for Christ, commitment to the Gospel, and spirit of poverty. The Bishop encouraged the faithful to imitate St. Anthony’s simplicity, generosity, and concern for the poor in their daily lives.
A significant moment of the celebration was the blessing and laying of the foundation stone for the new parish hall by the Bishop, marking an important milestone in the growth and development of the parish community.
At the conclusion of the Mass, Fr. Joachim Monteiro expressed his gratitude to Bishop Duming Dias, the concelebrating priests, parishioners, benefactors, volunteers, and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the feast.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the relic of St. Anthony was solemnly placed at the St. Anthony Grotto for public veneration, allowing the faithful to seek the saint’s intercession and blessings.
The celebrations continued with a spiritually enriching session of Eucharistic Adoration, Praise and Worship conducted by the Jeevan Jyothi Team under the leadership of Msgr. Elias Sequeira of the Diocese of Chikmagalur. The prayer service drew many faithful into a profound experience of prayer, thanksgiving, and renewal of faith.
The feast concluded on a joyful and prayerful note, strengthening the faith and unity of the parish community while honouring the beloved patron, St. Anthony.
