Strengthening Marriages: A Successful Enrichment Program in Bangalore
The Diocesan Family Commission organized a “Joyous Reunion of Faith and Fellowship” on 16th February 2025 at St. Patrick’s Church Hall, Bangalore. The event aimed to strengthen marital relationships and deepen the connection between couples from the Karwar Diocese residing in Bangalore. This program was organized in collaboration with the Uttar Kannada Konkani Catholic Association (UKKCA), Bangalore.
The program saw the participation of 125 members. The day began with a Holy Mass at St. Antony Chapel, presided over by Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Duming Dias, who also delivered an inspiring homily. Fr. Aloysius, from the Congregation of the Holy Cross, and Fr. Sachin D’Souza concelebrated the Mass.
Following the Mass, UKKCA members conducted a felicitation program, warmly welcoming the bishop, priests, and all participants. The bishop addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong ties between the Karwar Diocese and its members in Bangalore.
The session on rekindling and enriching marriage was led by Fr. Sachin D’souza and Br. Stephan, who provided deep insights into strengthening communication, understanding, and faith in married life. They emphasized the importance of mutual respect, emotional connection, and spiritual growth, engaging participants through interactive discussions and real-life examples.
An interactive discussion was held on expanding outreach to more couples from Uttar Kannada living in Bangalore. A key decision was made to hold two Marriage Enrichment Programs annually to provide continuous support and guidance for married couples.
The event was a resounding success, fostering stronger relationships and community bonds. With a commitment to regular programs, this initiative is expected to have a lasting impact on the lives of many couples.
