Training seminar for New PPC Members of Honavar Deanery held at Pratibhodaya Hall, Honavar

On 2nd March 2025, a training program for the newly elected Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) members was successfully conducted at Pratibhodaya Hall, Honavar. The event saw the participation of 164 members from various parishes, aiming to strengthen their understanding of PPC’s role in pastoral life.

The keynote speaker, Rev. Fr. Nirmal Kumar Miranda, Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre (DPC), delivered two insightful talks. The first session focused on the right understanding of PPC and its importance in the parish, emphasizing the council’s role in fostering pastoral growth and collaboration. The second session highlighted pastoral planning in parishes, including the responsibilities of PPC members in effective decision-making and parish development.

Adding to the interactive nature of the program, group discussions were led by Rev. Fr. Sebastián Fernandes, Deanery Coordinator, providing participants with an opportunity to engage deeply with the topics and share perspectives.

Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Thomas Fernandes, Dean of Honavar Deanery. Mr. Lorens Leema served as the Master of the Ceremony, ensuring the smooth flow of the program.The well-organized event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of St. Sebastian Church, Mugwa, which took charge of all the arrangements.

This training marks an important step in equipping PPC members with the knowledge and skills needed to serve their respective parishes effectively, fostering a spirit of unity and mission in the diocese.
