World Day of Consecrated Life Celebrated by the Bhatkal Deanery Clergy

The World Day of Consecrated Life was solemnly and joyfully celebrated on 22nd February 2026, at Holy Cross Church, Manki. The event was organized by the Bhatkal Deanery clergy to honor and appreciate the dedicated service of all priests and religious sisters serving in the deanery.

A total of 22 religious sisters and 9 priests from Bhatkal Deanery were present for the celebration. The chief guests for the occasion were Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Silva, Dean of Bhatkal Deanery, and CRI President Sr. Shanthi D’Souza.

The celebration commenced with a meaningful Eucharistic Adoration led by the Sisters of Francis Nilaya Convent, Manki. The prayerful atmosphere set a spiritual tone for the gathering, reminding everyone of the beauty, commitment, and grace of consecrated life.

The second part of the program was anchored by Mrs. Mishel Fernandes. Mr. Russel Fernandes extended a warm welcome to the gathering and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the priests and sisters for their selfless and dedicated service to the Church and society.

A cake-cutting ceremony followed, symbolizing unity and thanksgiving. In his address, Rev. Fr. Lawrence D’Silva reflected on the vocation to consecrated life. He emphasized that although this life can be challenging, consecrated persons are called to be joyful witnesses of the Good News of Christ through their dedication, sacrifice, and faithful service.

The program continued with a few entertaining games conducted by the anchor, bringing joy and laughter to the gathering. Prizes were distributed to the winners, and mementos were presented to all the priests and sisters as tokens of appreciation and love.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Sr. Shanthi D’Souza, CRI President, who sincerely thanked the Deanery clergy for organizing the event and acknowledged all those who contributed to the success of the celebration. The evening concluded with a fellowship dinner, strengthening the bond of unity among the clergy and religious of Bhatkal Deanery.
